Hannah Dela Cruz Abrams received a 2013 Whiting Writer's Award. She is working on a memoir, The Following Sea. Her work has appeared in the Oxford American, StoryQuarterly, Orion, and the Southern Humanities Review, among others. She currently teaches in the Department of English at the University of North Carolina Wilmington
