Frances Hwang

Frances Hwang, author of Transparency: Stories (Back Bay Books, 2007), received a 2008 PEN Beyond Margins Award and the 2008 Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She has received fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing, Colgate University, the MacDowell Colony, and the National Endowment for the Arts. She is currently a Visiting Lecturer in the Writing Program at NYU Shanghai and previously taught creative writing at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana.
